Great Photography Advice for Couples on Their Wedding Day
I came across this blog post via Facebook and I think it has some really excellent points which I thought I would share.

These two fun-loving people gave me the honor of being their wedding photographer at one of my first big shoots after moving back home to MA from FL. Today is their 6th anniversary! Join me down memory lane, will you? CLICK HERE
Emily and Joe are good people. Shooting their wedding was fun and an honor. Their wedding took place at Willowdale Estate and they made it uniquely theirs in many ways, including centerpieces of ceramic lanterns handmade by Joe. I considered stealing one but wasn't sure I could really pull it off discreetly enough. CLICK HERE to see the music slideshow of images from Emily and Joe's wedding.

Emily's mom Pat got a hold over me over the summer asking me if I'd be free to photograph her daughter's "non-wedding" in December. She conveyed to me at the time that Emily and her fiance Jay were headed to Kenya for work and when they are back for Christmas, they would like to get married at Cambridge City Hall and follow that with a small luncheon. Something different? I'm in!
I loved everything about Emily and Jay's day (and hopefully they did too!). They wore bright colors and had an easy nature about them. Cambridge City Hall is a beautiful building and the two were real troopers in the cold air afterwards during their portrait session.
The luncheon which followed at Upstairs on the Square* suited them with it's simultaneous vibrancy, whimsy and class.
* I'd link it but it's closing for good in a few days.
Love these two shots together. The first of Beth and Drew on their wedding day last year, the next with their twins, Chris and Sam this past weekend.
Easy going Jessica got a hold of me a while back and asked me to be her wedding shooter. As I'd photographed her sister Beth's wedding last winter, I knew Jessica was going to be a fun person to be around. I was not wrong. Jessica married Brendan at the Andover Country Club. Misty, chilly weather forced us inside but it didn't dampen the joy of the evening. Congratulations to your both!

Beth and I knew each other back in middle school. We went through high school together and grew up and went our ways, so when I heard from her about her simple, lovely wedding at our town hall, I was honored that she thought of me! And I was totally impressed with her and Drew's ability to rise to the occasion of their wedding portraits. You wouldn't know to look at them that the temperatures were in the teens! Brrr!
I also love how their wacky senses of humor come through.
I photographed Lauren and Matt a while back for their engagement session. They were fun to work with then and they were fun to work with on their wedding day too! The two of them have wonderful senses of humor which I think you can see in some of the images.
Celene and Phil were married at Tower Hill Botanic Garden on a day in July which involved rain rain and more rain. It dampened nothing. While watching these two celebrate their marriage some things were made extremely clear;
A) They adore each other.
B) Everyone adores them.
The people in attendance were fun and friendly, seemed to have a wonderful time all night. They clearly had a great deal of love and respect for these two, and boy, they new how to dance!

Rich and Paula's pretty pretty wedding took place on a gorgeous day earlier this summer. Set in Salem, MA, the event was tennis themed (yes, you read that right!), as tennis is something the couple share a passion for. It was so nice to be called back to Paula's family after I photographed her sister's wedding a few years ago!

This entry is long overdue. I met-up with Lauren and Matt in Newburyport and we had a great time wandering the little downtown, dodging the other photo sessions going on seemingly around every bend, and muttering to each about the angsty teen street performers squeeking out their emo tunes. We get along just fine.
This little slideshow has been a long time coming! I re-met Jenny, who I went to high school with, as a result of some community volunteering we both did. I was so excited to bump back into her and have been so grateful to have her as a new(ish) friend! I was truly honored when she asked me to document her big day.
I have known CJ since he was three and I was twelve...and his babysitter. Cut to many years later and here I am shooting his wedding!
It was a beautiful event with lots of personal touches. CJ's sister Tori, who I also sat for, made one thousand paper cranes that were hung throughout. During the ceremony each of the guests held a stone which was then placed into a lovely open wood box for the couple to keep. The reception was held in a beautiful barn and at the end of the night a bonfire awaited.
