BU Update
I have nothing to say here except that I am a slacker and have fallen way behind in my BU work updates. Here's a glance at the last five months or so.

Twenty eight people, including Janjay Innis (3rd year STH), in yellow, and Rev. Dr. Robin Olsen, (to right of Innis), joined together for solace and remembrance December 17, 2012 at Marsh Chapel. Innis organized the vigil to help herself and others deal with their feelings towards the recent events at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, CT.

Aerosmith performs a free outdoor concert November 5, 2012, in front of 1325 Comm Ave. where the band members used to live in the early 1970s. The concert comes on the eve of the release of the band’s 15th album, Music from Another Dimension. A plaque was displayed in their honor at the building.

Justin Wiemer (SMG,COM'13) observes a solitary moment for himself along the Charles River during Hillel House's observance of Tashlich Monday September 17, 2012. Tashlich often observed during Rosh HaShanah. "Tashlich" means "casting off" in Hebrew and involves symbolically casting off the sins of the previous year by tossing pieces of bread or another food into a body of flowing water. Just as the water carries away the bits of bread, so too are sins symbolically carried away. In this way the participant hopes to start the New Year with a clean slate. About 60 people participated in the Tashlich service this year.

The Wakefield Estate’s Summer Archaeology Institute is designed for high school students interested in learning about archaeology and local history. Participants conduct an actual archaeological excavation on site under the direction of graduate students from Boston University. The institute is a two-week course that includes a field trip to visit other active archaeological sites in the Boston area.
